Diane Newlander started dancing with her father when she was nine years old. She was voted Class Best Dancer in high school and has not stopped since. By the early nineties, Diane was a member of Stepping Out Dance Studio’s performance and competition swing dance team in Manhattan. Diane worked at the registration desk at Stepping Out in the day and trained as a dance teacher in the evening.
- Dance instructor in the Hudson Valley for 10 years
- Completed dance instructor intensive-teacher training led by the well-known, California based instructor, Skippy Blair.
- Artistic director and choreographer for the “Radio Flyers” performing dance troupe. The troupe performed at the Cunneen Hackett Cultural Center in Poughkeepsie and was a favorite show at local swing dances.
- Taught dance classes at local institutions including West Point Military Academy, Marist College, the Millbrook School, Ulster BOCES, All Sport, Unison Learning Center, Ulster County Community College, the Hotchkiss School, Cornwall Recreation, and New Windsor Recreation.
